Minerals
The Burke's Minerals Collection is one of the finest on the Pacific Coast. The collection contains specimens of every major chemical group, and is particularly rich in silicates, carbonates, halides and sulfides. Note that access to this collection is currently not available.
Meteorites
The Meteorite Collection at the Burke Museum is a repository for approximately 800 type specimens (small samples and thin sections) of meteorites from North Africa and Oman. These subsamples of larger, privately owned meteorites are available for use by qualified researchers and are held under the guidelines of the Meteoritical Society. Photo credit: Wikimedia Photo.
