Summary[edit]

Description

A moon rock at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States.

Collected by astronaut Alan Bean on November 20, 1969, at the Ocean of Storms on the Moon, this is half-pound specimen was part of a larger piece weighing two pounds. The small holes, or "vugs", are gas bubbles that existed in the rock as the lava which created it cooled.
