The EPA is developing a biofuels program

The EPA has a biofuels program that’s been in the works for years. In December of 2017, it called for 15 billion gallons of renewable fuels by 2022—a huge increase from the current level of just over 2 billion gallons produced annually.

The agency wants to see increased use of corn-based ethanol and advanced blends (like E15), but it also supports other types of biofuel production like algae-based fuels and wood chips (which are used as a feedstock).

The EPA is developing a biofuels program to help reduce CO2 emissions. It has already approved several renewable fuels, including ethanol and biodiesel, but it also plans to expand these programs in the near future.

Corn ethanol will be phased out in the U.S. next year, replaced by Brazilian cane-sugar-based fuels

Corn ethanol will be phased out in the U.S. next year, replaced by Brazilian cane-sugar-based fuels. While corn ethanol has been touted as a “green” alternative to fossil fuels, it has been found to be less efficient than other types of biofuel production and its production results in higher greenhouse gas emissions than other sources of renewable energy like solar or wind power.

In addition to being more expensive than other types of biofuels, corn ethanol is also less efficient at producing energy from plant matter: it requires more land for each unit of gasoline produced (because it requires growing new plants) so you need more space for your farm—and if you’re planting anything with an edible root system like potatoes or carrots then you’ll need even more land because these foods require much more water than most crops do! This means that while we might think about switching our cars over entirely over time towards electric vehicles (EVs), this won’t happen unless there are significant improvements made regarding battery technology since currently batteries aren’t powerful enough yet for everyday use.”

Biofuels may be a good way to reduce pollution

Biofuels may be a good way to reduce pollution.

  • They’re a good way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which cause global warming and climate change.
  • They’re also good for air quality because they help reduce the amount of dust in the air and smog that contributes to asthma attacks.
  • Biofuels can help clean up water pollution too!
